About the Role
Boston Children’s Hospital’s acclaimed Social Work Emergency Services team responds to social needs and issues in the Emergency Department and throughout inpatient services.
Responsibilities
- Respond to social needs and issues in the Emergency Department and throughout inpatient services.
- Complete biopsychosocial assessments and other specialized trauma assessments.
- Provide trauma-informed, strength-based interventions on behalf of patients and families.
- Screen and assess patients for needs regarding social determinants of health.
- Provide case management and advocacy on behalf of patients and families.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and community providers on behalf of patients and families.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work (minimum qualification).
- LCSW in the state of MA required; LICSW licensure in MA preferred.
- One year of social work experience in a medical environment preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and experience with various therapeutic modalities.
- Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of racial and ethnic populations; cultural competence is very important.
- Bicultural/Bilingual competency is a plus.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment (sense of humor is valued!).
Schedule
Overnight shift: Monday–Thursday, 10:15 PM–8:45 AM.
This position is 100% onsite.
Pay
The posted pay range reflects Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation at the time of posting. Any base pay offer depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
New hires are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
