Clinical Social Worker - California Correctional Institution (CCI)

About the Role

Under the general direction of the Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (CF) (Supervisor) or the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, CF, the Clinical Social Worker (Health/CF) Safety conducts assessments and summarizes case information to use in diagnosis, treatment (level of care), and dispositional release; diagnoses and/or collaborates in the formulation of a diagnosis; develops, monitors, and modifies treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team. Provides assessments, group therapy, and collateral conferences, and documents and evaluates patients' progress in treatment. The Clinical Social Worker (Health/CF) Safety coordinates placement with community resources and the Classification and Parole Representative.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments and summarizes case information to use in diagnosis, treatment (level of care), and dispositional release
• Diagnoses and/or collaborates in the formulation of a diagnosis
• Develops, monitors, and modifies treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team
• Provides assessments, group therapy, and collateral conferences
• Documents and evaluates patients' progress in treatment
• Coordinates placement with community resources and the Classification and Parole Representative

Qualifications

• Must be a Clinical Social Worker (Health/CF) Safety classification
• Position subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales

Pay

• Authorized HAM rate for this classification: P $8,678 - Q $9,319
• Recruitment and Retention Bonus available for clinicians newly hired with California Correctional Health Care Services
• Individuals may be eligible to receive a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend should they meet the eligibility criteria, including but not limited to remaining employed with CCHCS for six months
• Individuals may be eligible to receive a monthly recruitment and retention differential during their first year with CCHCS (totaling $20,000), should they meet the eligibility criteria
• CDCR and CCHCS employees may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus should you be selected for hire and remain employed with CCHCS for 90 days
