Clinical-Scientist or Scientist – Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery
Position description
The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking clinician-scientists or scientists in the field of Cancer Research. UCSF has a history of strong clinical productivity and several high-impact investigators dedicated to research in areas such as hearing loss, head and neck cancers, sleep disorders, and voice and swallowing disorders. We seek individuals with a strong background in cancer research who can transition into head and neck cancer research.
Required qualifications for Scientists
- PhD degree, MD degree, or equivalent degree with research expertise in the field or specialty of Cancer.
Required qualifications for Clinician Scientists
- MD degree, MD/PhD degree, or equivalent degree with research expertise in the field or specialty of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
- Completed accredited residency program in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
- Board certified or eligible in the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
Preferred qualifications for Clinician Scientists
- Preferred applicant who has completed a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery and is board certified or eligible.
About the role
The main research location for this position will be dependent on the needs of the applicant. Locations may include the Mission Bay, Mount Zion, or Parnassus campuses at the University of California, San Francisco.

Benefits
The position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
Pay
The minimum base salary range for this position is $130,200 - $393,200.
