About the role
Manages regulatory surveys related to complaints against AdventHealth and Risk Management Program Surveys. Monitors, analyzes, and reports aggregated event report data to hospital leaders, focusing on risk exposures for trends or patterns. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a resource to hospital administration, employees, and physicians on Risk Management, legal, and ethical issues, including off-hour and holiday coverage as needed.
- Integrates the risk management program with the quality and safety activities of the assigned areas.
- Identifies, investigates, and reports, facilitating the Root Cause Analysis & Action process.
- Develops, implements, and maintains educational risk management programs for all personnel and leadership on identified issues and related activities as required by law.
- Assesses operational and clinical risk across assigned areas.
- Develops, manages, and administers facility-wide systems for risk identification, investigation, and reduction.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, critical-thinking, oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of medical terminology and technology, medical procedures/treatments, their usual risks, and expected outcomes.
- Understanding of conflict resolution.
- Basic knowledge of federal legislation and state statutes relevant to Risk Management and patient safety activities.
- Ability to prioritize a diverse workload and possess the ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
- Ability to facilitate and/or manage process improvement projects as assigned.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a health care related field.
- 3+ years of clinical experience in a healthcare-related field.
- 3+ years of risk management or claims field experience.
- Experience in process improvement/patient safety/clinical risk management/quality activities.
- Registered Nurse (RN), Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ACNPC), Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Physical Therapist (PT), Physician Assistant (PA), Licensed Paramedic (PARA), Licensed Pharmacist (RPH), or Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM).
