Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end management of patient clinical complaints and incidents, ensuring appropriate escalation paths are followed
- Make high-level decisions regarding when to involve legal counsel, clinical directors, or executive leadership in the resolution process
- Manage the engagement with the Patient Safety Organization, strictly adhering to quality privilege principles and documentation standards
- Conduct thorough root-cause analyses and incident investigations, implementing risk mitigation strategies as necessary
- Serve as the main contact for patient inquiries, focusing on a balanced dialogue between patient needs and clinical standards
- Collaborate with clinic staff to coach on empathetic communication strategies post-incident, nurturing trust and transparency
- Document investigation findings and risk assessments with accuracy, maintaining confidentiality under legal direction
Qualifications
- 5+ years of clinical risk management experience, preferably in outpatient imaging or MRI services
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required
- Strong background in patient relations or healthcare conflict resolution with skills in de-escalation
- Solid understanding of clinical risk protocols and medical-legal concepts, including the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act
- Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, with proficiency in video conferencing and digital tools
