About the role

This position will work in various clinical environments and may obligate you to meet specific health and safety requirements, including but not limited to screenings, providing proof of vaccination, and/or testing. Conducts research assessments on study participants. Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Assists with training staff. Ensures adherence to protocols and corrects issues with data collection. Study recruitment and data collection sites include Shadyside, Mercy, McKeesport, and Monroeville Hillman Cancer Center clinic sites.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research assessments on study participants
  • Affixes to and assists with Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols
  • Affixes to and assists with training staff
  • Ensures adherence to protocols and corrects issues with data collection

Requirements

  • Comfortable with using public transportation between study sites
  • Dependable and flexible with time to accommodate participant clinical schedules
  • Experience with electronic medical records, REDCap, and SPSS is a plus
  • TB Test is required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or psychology preferred or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills required
  • Must be dependable and flexible with time to accommodate participant clinical schedules
  • Comfortable with technology

Skills

  • Experience with electronic medical records, REDCap, and SPSS
  • Comfortable with technology

Pay

$19 per hour

Schedule

Monday- Friday 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary based upon participant recruitment and data collection clinic schedules.

This full-time Research Coordinator will be responsible for the conduct of a newly funded, large NIH-funded cancer research project for patients with hematologic malignancies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or psychology
  • Experience with electronic medical records, REDCap, and SPSS
  • Comfortable with technology

Background Checks

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks are required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
