About the Role

K2 is seeking a Clinical Research Physician to support our clinic in Maitland, FL. This full-time, onsite position is open to Board-Certified, Board-Eligible, or Resident-level Physicians interested in learning and working in clinical research. No prior experience is necessary, and training will be provided.

Our clinical trials experience includes neurodegenerative disorders (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, LBD), general medicine (Obesity, GLP-1 use, OA, HTN, DM, NASH/MASH, and cardiometabolic), and psychiatry. We have contributed to trials for all current FDA-approved Alzheimer’s disease therapies and most diagnostics (PET tracers, CSF, and blood biomarkers). We are also actively testing multiple therapeutics in Alzheimer’s disease prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical oversight to the research team and research patients ethically and responsibly.
  • Review patient eligibility for clinical trials.
  • Meet with patients during study visits to perform assessments, including physical examinations and data collection.
  • Review and interpret laboratory results, EKGs, and other diagnostic and safety assessments as required per study protocol.
  • Monitor safety variables, including adverse events, laboratory abnormalities, and changes in patient medical status.
  • Use proper medical judgment and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Review and discuss medical or protocol-related concerns with the medical team.
  • Maintain compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and all assigned trainings.
  • Attend study-related meetings (occasional travel to exciting cities).
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and key study personnel in overseeing the execution of study protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Board-Eligible/Board-Certified (BE/BC) in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology, or Metabolic specialties.
  • Current unrestricted Florida medical license highly desired; open to candidates with an out-of-state unrestricted license willing to obtain FL licensure.
