About the role
The School of Medicine at Duke University is seeking a Nurse Coordinator to serve as the primary nurse coordinator for clinical studies in the Division of Hematology. The coordinator will conduct clinical research studies in the areas of benign Hematology and Sickle Cell Disease, and will also serve as backup for studies as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct all day-to-day study activities, including subject consent and enrollment, data collection and entry, participant compensation, study monitoring activities, etc.
- Work with the Division Lead to manage regulatory tasks such as study start up and close out, IRB tasks, etc.
- Manage and document Investigational Product (IP) including arrival, storage, tracking, and provision to research participants.
- Manage participant level documentation for all studies, including complex studies and those requiring access to the Duke EHR.
- Maintain retention and recruitment rates through various strategies.
- Develop and submit documentation and information for IRB review.
- Enter and collect data, develop data entry or collection SOPs, and train others.
- Prepare for and provide support for study monitoring and audit visits.
- Contribute to the effective facilitation of team meetings and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Contribute to the development of scientific publications and presentations.
- Prepare studies for closeout and document storage.
Requirements
- Organizational skills, communication skills, ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, technology skills, medical terminology, and understanding of clinical medicine.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to manage, work with, and support multiple stakeholders with different practice styles, and willingness to learn new and complex skills as needed.
- Duke clinical trial experience and a desire to expand knowledge and share knowledge in an academic setting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
- Current or compact Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of North Carolina.
- BLS certification.

Pay
The anticipated pay range for this position is USD $63,692.00 to USD $102,937.00 annually.
