About the Role

Involves analytical studies on a variety of policies, projects, programs, and issues in support of a function, research initiative, program, and/or organizational unit, or in research of new or changing systems and programs. Assists in policy and program planning, development, administration, management, and implementation; interprets, monitors, and analyzes information regarding policies and procedures and provides consultative services to department administrators and other stakeholders. Applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research, and procedural issues. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives, and makes sound recommendations.

About the Department

"Our study team is conducting the Probiotic Administration for Adolescent Depression Study, a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial examining the relationship between the gut microbiome, brain function, and depressive symptoms in adolescents and young adults. The goal of this study is to better understand how modulation of the gut microbiome through probiotic administration may influence the gut–brain axis and mental health outcomes in youth with depression. This study integrates clinical psychiatry, neuroimaging, and microbiome research to investigate novel mechanisms underlying adolescent depression."

Responsibilities

• Conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity related to policies, research, and procedural issues.
• Assist in policy and program planning, development, administration, management, and implementation.
• Interpret, monitor, and analyze information regarding policies and procedures.
• Provide consultative services to department administrators and other stakeholders.
• Analyze issues and problems, gather data and information, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience.
• Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
• Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, research, and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in multi-tasking with demanding timeframes.
• Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
