About the Role

Coordinates daily operations of clinical research studies in assigned department(s), including overall clinic conduct, marketing, and data management of all clinical research activities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws, such as training new employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, and addressing complaints or resolving problems.

The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and dangerous bodily fluids. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Approximately 5-15% travel (often long-distance) is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with research subject enrollment by completing all necessary documents, research consent documentation, and ensuring accurate data entry of patient information into research files/database.
• Coordinate and schedule research subjects visits.
• Ensure research data is securely stored and protected from unauthorized access, loss, or corruption, while complying with TTUHSC and other relevant regulations and ethical guidelines governing data management, research, and privacy.
• Train and oversee part-time staff involved with research projects.
• Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) with various administrative tasks, such as preparing reports, collecting research data, and maintaining research supplies.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed to accomplish the goals and mission of the research project and institute.

Requirements

• Healthcare-related training with current licensure/certification in their field OR a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a major in the area of research being conducted.
• Certification as a Certified Clinical Research Professional (by The Society of Clinical Research Associates) or Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals) OR ability to obtain certification within two years from the date of hire or upon eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with working with institutional review boards.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
