Clinical Research Coordinator III
About the role
The Clinical Research Coordinator III manages all aspects of conducting clinical trials with minimal supervision. This role requires in-depth knowledge of protocol requirements and good clinical practices as set forth by federal regulations. Acting as the primary resource for the protocol, the Clinical Research Coordinator III serves as a liaison between the patient, investigator, Institutional Review Board, and sponsor.
Responsibilities include screening, enrolling, and following study patients, ensuring protocol compliance and close patient monitoring. The role involves working independently to design, coordinate, and implement all assigned research projects, managing all data and source documentation, adverse event reporting, and maintaining complete regulatory files.

- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of IRB submission process and requirements
- Interact effectively with patients and the general public
- Acquire and maintain all required CITI training certificates
- Acquire and maintain credentialing at required institutions: Tulane Medical Center, Veterans Administration Hospital/New Orleans, LA, and University Medical Center
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or RN with current Louisiana state licensure at the time of hire and two (2) years of related work experience.
- OR LPN with current Louisiana state licensure at the time of hire and five (5) years of related work experience.
- OR Master’s degree and one (1) year of related work experience.
- Preferred Qualification: Certification as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals or ACRP) OR Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP through the Society of Clinical Research Associates or SoCRA).
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
