Job Summary

The Division of Urology within the Department of Surgery is seeking a professional, well-organized team player to fill the position of Clinical Research Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee research and administrative procedures
  • Ensure compliance with hospital, state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures including patient consent (when applicable)
  • Perform data acquisition and entry for prospective urology projects
  • Help design, implement and direct research projects
  • Screen potential research participants and coordinate patient follow-up for enrolled subjects
  • Obtain informed consent/assent from research subjects and/or parents/guardians
  • Help to develop and implement research quality control procedures including data collection and data management tools (e.g. case report forms, databases, and data entry and cleaning systems)
  • Affirm the accuracy and validity of data entered in databases
  • Aid in the creation, editing, and submission of IRB protocols
  • Participate in aspects of grant submissions and reporting in consultation with Investigators and clinical trials officers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a health sciences or related field or equivalency with two years professional research experience and completion of University RATS Clinical Certification within one year of hire required
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA, HIPAA and IRB regulations; an understanding of research procedures; and the ability to function independently
