Position Summary
Odyssey is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to manage and ensure the integrity of clinical investigations focusing on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), brain health, and related outcomes at the TBICoE center. The role involves compliance with regulatory requirements and collaboration across various departments.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and ensures the integrity of all activities related to TBICoE TBI clinical investigations.
- Aids in the preparation and submission of clinical protocols, consent forms, and other documents to regulatory committees.
- Facilitates project flow and approvals as needed.
- Maintains regulatory files related to TBICoE clinical investigations.
- Communicates with research participants, staff, regulatory affairs, and data management groups.
- Recruits, interviews, and screens TBICoE clinical research study volunteers, administers informed consent.
- Assists in data collection, analysis, and reporting of adverse events.
- Trains incoming staff on study procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Supports statistical analyses and data capture under direction of project leads.
- Collaborates with senior clinical research directors and other senior research leads for metrics and program success.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: US citizen.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in biology, psychology, or related health/social science required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years clinical investigations experience required. Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care preferred.
- Training: Human Subjects training completed.
- Certifications: Certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC), Clinical Research Professional (CCRP), and/or Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) preferred (must maintain Continuing Education credit).
- Skills: Excellent communication, clinical acumen, knowledge of universal precautions, organizational skills, proficiency in research conduct, and strong writing and analytical skills.
- Physical Capabilities: Must be able to sit and stand for long periods, carry light items up to 25 lbs, and work in an office and hospital environment.
- Work Environment: Office clinical and hospital environment, may encounter patients who are confused, agitated, or abusive.
