Position Summary

The Division of Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to work with faculty researcher Sabra L. Katz-Wise, PhD and the GenderWise Lab. We are looking for someone who is passionate about LGBTQ+ adolescent/young adult health and has interest and experience in both qualitative and survey research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project management for GenderWise Lab studies (e.g., tracking and reporting progress and expenses, managing IRB protocols, maintaining staff procedure guides)
  • Serving as the liaison between the GenderWise Lab and external organizations for contracts, data use agreements, and other activities to advance research aims
  • Recruitment and screening of study participants
  • Maintaining study data in accordance with data management and sharing protocols
  • Coding and analyzing qualitative data and contributing to quantitative data analysis, as skills allow
  • Conducting literature reviews and contributing to writing research manuscripts and reports
  • Ongoing facilitation of a community advisory board
  • Maintaining the GenderWise Lab website. Coordinating and scheduling meetings, submitting receipts for reimbursement, completing CV-related tracking forms
  • Onboarding and training staff and students on GenderWise Lab and BCH procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field; a master's degree preferred
  • Experience: 2 years of experience as a Research Assistant, Research Coordinator, or Lab Manager
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work without direct supervision, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain participant data confidentiality and adhere to study protocols
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others
  • Experience and comfort using standard computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office and Google programs)

Preferred Experience

  • Prior advocacy for and/or allyship with LGBTQ+ communities, particularly bisexual communities and transgender and nonbinary communities
  • Prior experience with qualitative research
  • Prior experience with IRB protocols
  • Experience and comfort using survey building tools (e.g., REDCap), analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Dedoose), and website management tools (e.g., Google Sites, Wordpress)
