Clinical Research Coordinator A (Department of Ophthalmology)

About the Role

This position will assist in the management of multiple clinical trials within the Department of Ophthalmology. Responsibilities include coordinating patient screening, subject enrollment, collection and storage of biological samples, and clinical data management. The role involves assisting with Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings, preparing manuscripts, grant proposals, and research presentations, and working closely with the Principal Investigator and study team to identify and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct clinical studies, including subject recruitment, informed consent, chart maintenance, and data entry.
• Handle IRB submissions and renewals in accordance with FDA and IRB guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with protocols and regulatory requirements, including collecting, recording, and maintaining data and source documentation.
• Oversee study preparation, blood sample processing, and analysis.
• Manage databases and perform data analysis.
• Order and stock supplies, and maintain equipment.
• Educate patients and family members.
• Promote good clinical practice in the conduct of clinical investigations, including possessing in-depth knowledge of federal regulations and guidance documents for clinical studies and human subject protection.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• 1 to 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay

Salary offers range from $46,500.00 to $47,313.00 annually, based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they relate to the position, and in alignment with external market and internal peer data.
