Clinical Quality Program Consultant

About the role

The Clinical Quality Program Consultant establishes and monitors consistent commitment to standards to satisfy specific internal, regulatory or other requirements. They provide oversight for quality programs to achieve optimal quality of care and the highest level of patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, designs and maintains quality programs and ensures compliance with regulatory and other requirements;
• Directs and coordinates mechanisms to help identify and prioritize ongoing opportunities for improvement;
• Collections, analyzes and reports meaningful quality metrics;
• Recommends and facilitates strategies for improvement;
• Makes sure improvement strategies are effective;
• Monitors sustained improvement over time and provides training and education on quality programs;
• Collaborates with clinical staff to review current practices to improve patient outcomes and enhance safety;
• Works with multidisciplinary teams to identify gaps in care and facilitate the clinical process improvement process to ensure clinical goals and outcomes are obtained.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in health related specialty or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience;

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to interpret clinical, operational, and quality data, and translate findings into actionable recommendations;
• Demonstrated experience in quality management and quality assurance, including development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives;
• Knowledge of quality control principles and methods to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies;
• Consulting skills to effectively engage stakeholders, facilitate decision-making, and guide teams through quality improvement processes;
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, public health, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification in quality or process improvement (e.g., CPHQ, Six Sigma, Lean) is preferred;
• Experience in an academic medical center or complex healthcare environment, with familiarity in clinical workflows and interdisciplinary team structures;
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse disciplines and levels of leadership;
• Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, dashboards, quality metrics systems) and comfort with electronic.
