About the role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in implementing and evaluating programs within the Integrative Oncology Unit, contributing significantly to the development of evidence-based holistic and patient-centred approaches to supportive cancer care. Responsibilities

• Deliver expert psychological care, psychoeducation and support to patients and families/carers of Alfred cancer patients at all stages of the cancer journey including after diagnosis, during active treatment and post treatment.
• Work in the Integrative Oncology Unit, an outpatient service established in August 2024, whilst also working closely with the existing cancer psychology service.
• Contribute to the development of evidence-based holistic and patient-centred approaches to supportive cancer care.
• Implement and evaluate programs within the Integrative Oncology Unit.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to psychologists and foster professional growth within the Alfred Cancer team.
• Leverage skills in providing psychological services to individuals with serious and chronic health conditions, preferably cancer/oncology services.
• Develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based interventions such as mindfulness, cognitive-behavioural therapy and other therapeutic and integrative approaches relevant to supportive cancer care.

Requirements

• Master or doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Health Psychology
• Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
• 5 years’ experience working as a psychologist
• Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Health Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009
• *Approved PBA Supervisor (P3 applicants)
• Experience in providing psychological services to individuals with serious and chronic health conditions, preferably cancer/oncology services
• Skills and experience in developing, implementing and evaluating evidence-based interventions such as mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy and other therapeutic and integrative approaches relevant to supportive cancer care.
