Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week. No weekends or on-call required.

Pay

The stated pay scale reflects the range Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position: $63.51 – $91.78 per hour, with midpoint at $81.93. Actual pay rate and pay grade will depend on years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and employer business practices.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, plans, directs, and administers psychology services.
  • Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning.
  • Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities, and engages in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
  • Documentation Performance Criteria:
    • Completes documentation in a timely, complete, legible, concise, and accurate manner following Sharp HealthCare guidelines, professional standards, and third-party payor/regulatory requirements.
    • Maintains records pertinent to departmental operations.
    • Completes all documentation elements (Interdisciplinary Plan of Care, Education record, billing, discharge plan, etc.).
  • Patient Care Performance Criteria:
    • Performs appropriate assessments on all patients and reassesses as per policy.
    • Assesses patient pain interfering with function or rehabilitation and provides intervention.
    • Designs, implements, and evaluates treatment effectiveness, recommending changes to physicians as needed.
    • Ensures patient care is delivered in a safe environment, reducing the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
    • Formulates and evaluates teaching plans based on identified learning needs; includes family in teaching as appropriate.
    • Demonstrates knowledge and safe use of modalities, equipment, and therapeutic procedures.
    • Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
  • Completes development plan with satisfactory performance.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology from a graduate program.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification – required.
  • California Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) – required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in a clinical psychology setting.
