About the role

The positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE Health Service Corps (IHSC), in Batavia, New York; Bowling Green, Virginia; Conroe, Texas; and Tacoma, Washington.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and interview patients, and perform bio-psychological social evaluations.
  • Conduct therapy, monitor, approve, and document all treatment planning.
  • Analyze clinical assessments of patients by reviewing and diagnosing the appropriate modality of each patient.
  • Develop treatment processes and procedures for orientation of patients and evaluate overall effectiveness of therapeutic efforts, and institute changes to increase effectiveness of therapeutic efforts.
  • Independently plan and carry out assigned duties in accordance with generally accepted psychological theories, techniques, and professional practice standards with full professional responsibility.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.

Qualifications

  • BASIC REQUIREMENTS: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess the following:
  • DEGREE: Clinical psychology: You must have successfully completed all the requirements for the Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. (You must provide a copy of your transcripts with your application.)
  • LICENSE: You must possess a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction. (You must provide a copy with your application.)
  • SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service OR equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties:
  • Perform psychodiagnosis and psychotherapy at a level of professional maturity for the full range of mentally disturbed patients in psychiatric or general medical hospitals or community mental health centers;
  • Apply psychological theories, principles to explain or justify psychological diagnoses, conclusions, findings or treatment recommendations.

Additional Requirements

  • CERTIFICATIONS: You must be willing to maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare provider certification. This certification shall be maintained in a current status at all times while performing services.

  • Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement reflects the lowest and highest potential salaries for this position. The actual salary range will be based on the applicable locality pay for the selected duty location.
