Job Summary

The Department of Neurosurgery at Michigan Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained Neurosurgeon to join its nationally recognized academic neurosurgical practice. The successful candidate will actively participate in the clinical, educational, research, and service missions of the department and institution.

Primary Clinical Responsibilities

Your primary clinical responsibilities will be based at Lieutenant Colonel Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Your 0.2 clinical effort at University of Michigan will be dedicated to patient care and clinical skill development at the UMH Academic Medical Center (AMC).

Service

Service at the AMC will occur approximately one day a week.

Department Overview

Qualifications

  • M.D. or equivalent degree
  • Successfully completed an accredited Neurological Surgery residency training program
  • American Board of Neurological Surgery certification or board eligibility
  • Hold, or be eligible to obtain, an unrestricted Michigan medical license and Federal DEA registration

Requirements

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to academic neurosurgery through excellence in patient care, teaching, and scholarly activity. Evidence of successful clinical and didactic teaching is expected. Academic accomplishments, including peer-reviewed publications, research activity, and the potential to develop an independent scholarly portfolio, are highly desirable.
