Clinical Primary Therapist II/Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Responsibilities

• Works with clients, either individually or in groups, to address mental health concerns.
• Applies knowledge and skill to assist clients in recovery and illness management.
• Establishes boundaries of therapy including a comfortable safe environment, caring therapeutic culture, and foundation for client/family engagement in recovery and behavioral management.
• Completes comprehensive assessments, gathering data and information to result in clinical formulation as the framework for developing the treatment plan.
• Collaborates with clients/families to establish treatment goals and identify interventions to promote goal achievement.
• Timely and accurately documents in the client’s medical record and coordinates care with colleagues in the clinic and throughout the continuum to secure appropriate treatment resources promoting client health.
• Participates in the on-call rotation to the Emergency Departments for mental health crisis evaluation and collaborates with the on-call psychiatrist to develop appropriate care plans.
• Provides direct oversight to another primary therapist, reviewing complex clinical cases, ensuring compliance with OMH regulations, and supporting clinical growth through evidence-based methods.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work with LCSW certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a mental health or hospital setting.
• Demonstrated good communication skills (verbal and written), good judgment, flexibility, accountability, and adherence to department standards of productivity.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and model effective teamwork.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy.
• PREFERRED: 3 years of experience in a mental health setting, experience with Microsoft Office products, and electronic medical record.
