Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with acute and sub-acute illnesses consistent with privileges granted.
  • Utilizes advanced clinical skills and knowledge to assess patients and manage their care, utilizing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
  • Communicates pertinent clinical issues to the collaborating/supervising physician and facilitates arrangements for consultation, follow-up, and/or intervention.

Requirements

  • Licensed Physician Assistant in New York, Current NYS license
  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant approved program with recorded certification
  • Or Licensed Nurse Practitioner in New York, Current NYS license
  • Graduated Degree as Nurse Practitioner
  • Infection Control Training certificate required
  • Current licensure

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Approach, tone of voice, speed of communication, respectfulness, and non-verbal communication

Working Conditions

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking
  • Works in office area and patient rooms throughout the facility
  • Working hours are varied, works beyond normal working hours or weekend coverage as necessary
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and uses appropriate personal protective equipment
