The Clinical Practice Assistant (CPA) position at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) combines administrative and clinical responsibilities. This role is essential for the smooth operation of the clinic, providing flexibility in meeting both clinical and administrative needs.
Responsibilities
- Actively and efficiently manage patient flow through the clinic
- Greet patients and answer the telephone professionally, taking accurate detailed electronic messages
- Schedule patient appointments electronically using Epic
- Execute insurance verifications and room patients
- Assist providers with medical histories and document in the electronic health record
- Check routine vital signs and point of care testing
- Assist providers with clinical procedures and book screening tests as part of the outreach process
- Book follow-up appointments (e.g., well child visits, vaccine booster visits)
- Participate in proactive population management of chronic diseases by generating MyCHArt messages, sending templated letters, and calling patients by telephone
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program or one year of previous experience as a medical assistant in lieu of program completion required
- Maintain current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification
- Ability to write and verbally communicate in English. Fluency in a second language is preferred
- Current experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Experience with administrative duties in a clinical setting preferred
Pay
