We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter for a challenging career with a fast-growing company in specialty pharmacy management services. Ideal candidates are experienced pharmacy technicians registered with the State of employment, with national certification as a CPhT preferred but not required. This role demands independence, strong relationship-building skills, and a focus on high-quality patient care and service.

About the role

Provides integrated support to patients and pharmacists through a hands-on approach to total quality patient care. Works closely with patients to deliver medication adherence support using various tools and applications. Seamlessly integrates with clinic teams (doctors, nurses, staff) to enhance patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide "legendary" care to hospital patients through custom medication management services.
  • Work alongside hospital clinicians to serve patients both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Educate prospective pharmacy patients on how the hospital improves their overall care.
  • Support outpatient retail and specialty prescription medication needs.
  • Grow the specialty pharmacy’s patient population.
  • Ensure patients remain on track with medication regimens through outbound adherence check-ups and refill coordination.
  • Communicate effectively with the centralized Patient Service Center regarding refill reports, zero-fill reports, monthly outstanding reports, and appointment lists.
  • Develop new processes to ensure smooth operations and patient care.
  • Identify medications requiring special storage or handling (e.g., hazardous or refrigerated medications).
  • Determine necessary supplies for select medications (e.g., sharps containers, needles, alcohol swabs).
  • Answer, resolve, and triage inbound inquiries.
  • Perform refill reminder calls under pharmacist supervision.
  • Resolve insurance-related issues, including prior authorizations (PAs), and assist patients with financial assistance.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation in all required systems and tracking mechanisms.
  • Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications.
  • Apply observations and recommendations to operational issues, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
  • Identify trends, resolve problems, recommend improvements, and implement change.
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a value-added business partner to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Update knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and networking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the company’s goals.

Requirements

  • State-registered pharmacy technician (required).
  • National certification as a CPhT or equivalent (strongly preferred but not required).
  • Commitment to obtaining additional licensure if needed within an agreed-upon timeframe.
  • 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician (3–5 years preferred).
  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based platforms.
  • Strong data entry and computer skills (evaluated during pre-employment).
