Clinical Pharmacist Specialist Critical Care

This position will staff clinically in areas that support the adult critical care teams at Corewell Health – Troy Hospital. Clinical rounding and direct patient care will be 90% on site with 10% time for other corporate-level initiatives, which may be remote.

In addition to staffing clinically in the areas that support the adult critical care teams, this role will participate as a clinical content expert with the pharmaceutical care for pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH) for Corewell Health. Responsibilities include being a primary preceptor for pharmacy students and residents, creating educational content around PAH and other critical care topics, participating in research, and leading pharmacy improvement and cost-savings projects.

This position requires strong collaboration and experience working with a variety of multidisciplinary teams, as the pharmacy clinical content expert in these areas to help achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Today, Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital has grown to 530 licensed beds and offers a comprehensive array of health care services, continuing to develop to meet the needs of the growing communities it serves.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for all Pharmacy clinical activities within assigned area.
  • Promotes team efforts with pharmacy and non-pharmacy personnel to manage and achieve departmental/corporate objectives.
  • Provides support for staff development so that staff meets/exceeds minimum competency standards and encourages/supports staff to continue professional development.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decisiveness throughout daily activities.
  • Maintains knowledge of current pharmaceutical practice and demonstrates a personal commitment to professional growth.
  • Serves as a role model of clinical excellence to staff pharmacists.
  • Supports management by providing oversight, guidance, and support for all assigned areas.
  • Participates in the planning, organization, implementation, and follow-up of new programs and activities.
  • Promotes safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D.
  • Preferred: Residency training.
  • 3 years of relevant experience; 3 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist or pharmacy residency/fellowship preferred.
  • In absence of residency training, candidates with demonstrated superior knowledge (board certification, considerable practical clinical experience, etc.) in area of focus may be considered.
  • State of Michigan Clinical Pharmacist License required within 90 days.
  • State of Michigan Pharmacist Controlled Substance License required within 90 days.

Schedule
