Clinical Pharmacist - Pharmacy Advisor

About the role

The role of the Clinical Pharmacist in the Pharmacy Advisor team provides support and consultation to targeted members regarding the disease state(s) supported by the program. Outbound calls are made directly to patients to provide education on new therapies, address non-adherence issues, and assess the need for supplemental medications based on the patient's unique needs and disease state.

Responsibilities

• Provide education on new therapies and address non-adherence issues
• Work with patients and prescribers to assess the need for supplemental medications
• Collaborate with other Pharmacy Advisor staff and CVS Caremark departments to address patient issues
• Complete an internal, disease-specific training program including behavioral modification and interviewing skills
• Work in a highly charged, fast-paced call center environment
• Participate in the further development and refinement of work systems, tools, processes, and procedures

Requirements

• 1+ years in Retail, LTC, Hospital or PBM pharmacy experience, or other pharmacist-to-patient consultation experience
• Current experience within Caremark Pharmacy Advisor team
• Experience working with patients with chronic disease states, especially diabetes
• Experience working as a pharmacist in a call center or other remote environment
• Adequate home internet required, high speed internet preferred (50 mb/sec download and 5 mb/sec upload)

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in AZ, HI, TX, IL, FL, or PA

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharmacy knowledge, drug utilization review
• Excellent consultation skills with patients
• Strong customer service skills
• PC literate, solid writing skills, knowledge of pharmacy laws, and accurate clinical information
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn new operating systems and new communication strategies
• Flexible, organized, and passionate about working directly with patients

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $50.48 - $84.62. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
