About the role

Safeguards the patient by screening their drug regimen for allergies, drug interactions, proper drug and proper dosing and therapeutic duplication.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the dispensing of all medication to provide the correct medication in the correct strength and dosage form to the correct patient in a safe and timely manner while being consistent with professional judgment, hospital policies and the laws governing the practice of pharmacy.
• Provides drug information to allied health professionals and the patient.
• Performs special assignments as directed by the Director of Pharmacy or other pharmacist supervisors.
