Responsibilities

  • Support infusion pharmacy operations in West Palm Beach, providing specialized pharmaceutical care for oncology patients receiving infusion therapies.
  • Review and verify medication orders.
  • Oversee the preparation and compounding of oncology and infusion medications.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members to optimize patient care.
  • Serve as an integral member of the oncology care team, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient delivery of cancer therapies.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Provide coverage at other regional infusion pharmacy locations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
  • Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
  • Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
  • Provide cost-effective care.

Qualifications

  • PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days of hire for individuals administering immunizations.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within one year of hire for individuals responding to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certification.
  • Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship, or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience.
  • Post-Graduate Year 2 Residency (PGY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists in a specialized pharmacy practice area.
  • Experience compounding oncology medications strongly preferred.
  • Prior infusion pharmacy experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps, and sitting.
  • Must have normal or corrected vision.
  • Must have the ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Schedule

Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. No weekend or holiday expectation.
