The Clinical Pharmacist – Inpatient provides comprehensive clinical and operational pharmacy services to support safe and effective medication therapy for hospitalized patients. This role has the opportunity to cross-train in other specialties such as ED, critical care, etc.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services
- Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations
- Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner
- Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards
- Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences
- Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients
Qualifications
- PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
- Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days (for individuals required to administer immunizations)
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. For caregivers required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest, this is required within one year of hire
Preferred qualifications
- Board certification
- Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or 2 years of relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
- Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a specialized pharmacy practice area
Schedule
- Rotating shifts with three weeks on first shift from approximately 8:00am – 4:30pm, followed by one week on second shift from approximately 1:00pm – 9:30pm
- Every fourth weekend rotation, working Saturday and Sunday
- 1–2 holidays per year, with no more than two holidays
- No float expectations
Pay
Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00 – Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00. The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package.
