About the role
The Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Inpatient Abdominal Transplant Clinical Pharmacist. The Inpatient Abdominal Transplant Clinical Pharmacist will cover abdominal transplant patients, serving as an expert of pharmacotherapy for the interdisciplinary transplant team.
Responsibilities
- Review transplant pharmacotherapy on interdisciplinary rounds
- Lead education for patients and healthcare professionals
- Contribute to protocols and guidelines
- Quality improvement and research projects
- Training for residents and students
Requirements
- Eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Board Certification by examination, or equivalent certification, in the relevant specialty is preferred, required within 18 months of hiring
- Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 Internal Medicine or Transplant Pharmacy Residency or Fellowship preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience working as a pharmacist 2-3 years preferred

- Extensive knowledge and ability in all areas of the department including: IV Admixtures, Drug Information, Ambulatory, Manufacturing, and Drug Distribution
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span of the neonate, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient
- Possess ability to assess patient data relative to age specific needs
- Provide care as described in the department's policies/procedures
- Works relatively independently
- Participates in department quality improvement efforts
- Participates in the training of medical, nursing and allied health professionals
