Clinical Pharmacist (Evenings)

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware.

Schedule

  • Rotating evening shifts including working every 3rd weekend and two holidays per year
  • Staffing hours: 11am–7:30pm, 12pm–8:30pm, and 2pm–10:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmacy services from the Central Pharmacy
  • Review, clarify, and make recommendations for all medication orders
  • Coordinate and check all activities of Certified Pharmacy Technicians
  • Provide age- and developmentally-appropriate care to infants, children, adolescents, and adults
  • Provide drug information and education to hospital personnel and the community
  • Assist with quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations concerning Controlled Substances
  • Preview and interpret medication orders for accuracy, accounting for pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic variations
  • Provide specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes, including advising on drug therapy, toxicity, interactions, side effects, and appropriate dosing
  • Deliver accurate, adequate, and timely drug information to professional staff, patients, and families
  • Coordinate the preparation, labeling, and delivery of medications in accordance with federal, state, and local laws
  • Facilitate orientations and educational programs for medical staff and residents on appropriate utilization of Pharmacy Services
  • Participate in medication use review activities; collect data and maintain logs, records, and documentation

Requirements

  • B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD required
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience required
  • Must be licensed or license-eligible in DE, PA, and NJ
  • Associates not licensed in DE at time of hire must obtain licensure within 90 days of employment
  • Associates not licensed in PA or NJ must obtain licensure within 6 months of start date
  • Experience with non-sterile operations (e.g., unit dose training) and sterile operations (e.g., IV compounding)
  • Experience with TPN, Oncology, Dialysis, drug storage, distribution, and automation technology systems
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software
  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred; pediatric pharmacy experience preferred
