Overview
Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Clinical Pharmacist for their Inpatient Pharmacy team!
Work Shift
Shift: Rotating Days and Evenings (Occasional Overnight)
Hours: 6am-11pm
Weekends: Every 4th Weekend
Holiday Rotation
Responsibilities
- Provision of safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services
- Participation in all necessary aspects of the medication-use system
- Comprehensive and individualized pharmaceutical care to patients in assigned areas
- Management of patient drug therapy in accordance with clinical practice standards
- Affirmation of the appropriateness of all provider medication orders
- Maintenance of current knowledge of medication use and disease states
- Service as the primary resource for drug information and education
- Providing in-depth patient counseling when required
- Assuming local responsibility and ownership for assigned tasks
- Following policies and procedures consistently
- Seeking out additional training opportunities and staying updated on new and changing information
- Demonstrating superior customer service, effective communication, decision-making, and organization
- Serving as a role model in professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork
- Triage and escalation of questions or issues outside the scope of practice
- Using appropriate systems for processing of patient information
- Maintaining quality assurance according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operating pharmacy equipment appropriately
- Precepting pharmacy students as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (Required)
- Doctorate level degree in Pharmacy (Preferred)
- Virginia Pharmacist License (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
- Previous Clinical Experience (Preferred)
- Oncology Experience (Preferred)
- Residency Trained (Preferred)

- Education: Bachelor's Level Degree in Pharmacy (Required)
- Experience: Previous Clinical Experience (Preferred)
- Specialty: Oncology Experience (Preferred)
- Training: Residency Trained (Preferred)
