Position Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens using evidence-based medicine and standards of care.
  • Support hospital performance on national quality indicators, with a strong focus on the admission medication process.
  • Provide educational in-services to clinical staff.
  • Develop policies and processes to enhance departmental operations and workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in at least one departmental or hospital committee.
  • Precept pharmacy students and/or residents, contributing to clinical education and training.

  • Order verification & distribution: 20%
  • Education: 15%
  • Administrative duties: 5%

Education and Experience

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification. PharmD, preferred.
  • Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy. Oncology experience preferred for oncology roles, required. 2 years of experience for Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship roles: ASHP - accredited PGY2 Infectious Disease residency OR minimum of 2 years of equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship, required.

Licensure and Certification

  • Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity.
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other approved certification must be obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date as applicable to the role, required.
