Clinical Pharmacist
About the role
Maintains drug therapy to enhance patient outcomes and care quality, suggests appropriate and cost-effective pharmacological interventions, and ensures accurate and timely medication delivery.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and evaluates drug therapy plans to ensure efficacy and safety.
- Provides nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimen recommendations based on patient needs.
- Serves as a supervisor for pharmacy technical staff, ensuring adherence to protocols and standards.
- Evaluates and implements new medications and treatment regimens as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
- Licensure to practice pharmacy in Alabama.
- Completion of a postgraduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience.
- A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills necessary for effective interaction with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to manage a high volume of tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations relevant to pharmacy practice.
