Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

Maintains drug therapy to enhance patient outcomes and care quality, suggests appropriate and cost-effective pharmacological interventions, and ensures accurate and timely medication delivery.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and evaluates drug therapy plans to ensure efficacy and safety.
• Provides nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimen recommendations based on patient needs.
• Serves as a supervisor for pharmacy technical staff, ensuring adherence to protocols and standards.
• Evaluates and implements new medications and treatment regimens as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Licensure to practice pharmacy in Alabama.
• Completion of a postgraduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience.
• A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills necessary for effective interaction with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ability to manage a high volume of tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations relevant to pharmacy practice.
