About the role
The Clinical Pharmacist at Mercy General Hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and effective medication management for patients. This includes reviewing prescriptions for potential drug interactions, correcting dosing, checking for patient allergies, and resolving any unusual findings.
Responsibilities
- Review prescriptions for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies, and anything unusual.
- Interpret medication orders and ensure appropriate drug selection and therapeutic regimens.
- Communicate drug information to patients and health professionals, resolving drug-related problems.
- Document clinical activities and interventions accurately as per policy and procedure.
- Verify and check medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.
- Provide basic clinical services as required by policy and procedure.
- Maintain an adequate knowledge base to provide clinical services for all age groups served.
- Maintain a working knowledge of automated systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy
- California Pharmacist license
- Basic Life Support - CPR certification
Preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy

Skills
- Ability to interpret medication orders and ensure appropriate drug selection and therapeutic regimens.

Pay
The posted compensation range is $69.41 - $103.25 /hour, reflecting the lowest to highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
Schedule
Part Time, 64 hours per week, Monday through Friday, varying shifts.
