Clinical Pharmacist
About the role
The Clinical Pharmacist at Mercy Hospital of Bakersfield helps doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help patients feel better and recover from illnesses or injuries. Responsibilities
- Review prescriptions for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies, and anything unusual.
- Interpret medication orders and ensure appropriate drug selection and therapeutic regimens.
- Communicate drug information to patients and health professionals, resolving drug-related problems.
- Document clinical activities and interventions such as consults, patient teachings, and other patient-specific information.
- Verify and check medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.
- Achieve and maintain an adequate basic knowledge base to provide clinical services for all age groups served.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to document clinical activities and interventions.
- Strong knowledge of Pharmacy Services and current practice concepts.
- Active State Pharmacist License in good standing.
- Strong project management, strategic planning, and change management skills.
- Personal traits of high motivation, team orientation, professionalism, trust, and treating others with dignity and respect.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
- BLS-CPR certification.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of automated systems.

Pay
The posted compensation range for this position is $69.41 - $103.25 per hour, reflecting the lowest to highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
