About the role

As a PRN Pharmacist supporting the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, you will help doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications, ensuring patients recover from illness or injury. You will build trust by reviewing every prescription in your queue, providing the final expert safety check beyond computer alerts.

  • Review prescriptions for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies, and any unusual findings.
  • Document clinical activities and interventions such as consults, patient teachings, and other patient‑specific information as defined by policy and procedure.
  • Interpret medication orders and prescriptions for drug interactions, appropriate drug selection, and overall appropriateness.
  • Accurately enter and verify orders or prescriptions into the computer system, label, and dispense medications in a timely manner.
  • Verify and check medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.
  • Communicate drug information to patients and health professionals.
  • Resolve drug‑related problems by consulting with other health‑care professionals to achieve appropriate patient outcomes.
  • Clarify unclear orders with the licensed provider and assist the provider in appropriate drug selection and therapeutic regimens.
  • Maintain an adequate basic knowledge base to provide clinical services for all age groups served.
  • Provide basic clinical services as required by policy and procedure.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of automated pharmacy systems.

Requirements

  • Pharmacist license in the State of Nebraska.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Pay

$49.54 – $73.70 per hour
