Essential Functions

  • Reviews patients' medication order for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug-drug interaction.
  • Makes appropriate evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use.
  • Safeguards and efficiently delivers appropriate medications to care areas and stores them securely and appropriately.
  • Counsels patients and promotes quality medication education and adherence.
  • Ensures patients are well-informed, treated respectfully, and receive top-tier professional service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution (education verified).
  • Licenses to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances.
  • Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy in the state of practice.
  • Effective communication, people management, and project management skills.
  • Immunization certification if applicable to practice site needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors requiring verbal communication, hearing, and understanding information quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

Location

Intermountain Health Sevier Valley Hospital, Manti Clinic, North Sevier Clinic, South Sevier Clinic

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts, no weekends or holidays; options for alternate weekday schedules such as 9 or 10-hour shifts after 6 months of employment.
