About the role

This position involves delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within their scope of practice, focusing on patient care and building professional relationships within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Review medication orders for interactions, duplication, appropriateness, and make evidence-based interventions to optimize therapy.
  • Oversee medication preparation, delivery, and storage to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Provide patient counseling, promote medication adherence, and ensure respectful, professional service.
  • Complete regulatory and compliance training, maintaining thorough documentation and adherence to laws and policies.
  • Supervise interns, technicians, and support staff; offer clinical consultation to healthcare professionals.
  • Proactively resolve issues related to equipment, drug availability, staffing, and patient care.
  • Identify process improvements and safety hazards, contributing ideas during departmental meetings.
  • Support organizational directives and leadership initiatives to enhance clinical, operational, and customer service standards.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • State licensure to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances.
  • Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and statutes.
  • Immunization certification if applicable.

Skills

  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Preferred experience in complex medication management, interdisciplinary collaboration, precepting, and working in integrated healthcare systems.
  • Board certification and residency are advantageous.

Physical and additional requirements

  • Ability to read, interpret information, and operate equipment accurately.
  • Effective verbal communication with providers, colleagues, and patients.
  • Manual dexterity for handling supplies, complex equipment, and computer use.
