Clinical Patient Access Representative

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments via phone following company protocols, procedures and physician schedule templates when applicable.
  • Explain insurance and financial policies when scheduling appointments.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all incoming callers by answering phones promptly and in polite, professional manner.
  • Accurately document patient concerns.
  • Answer telephone, screen calls, take messages, and provide information according to protocol.
  • Maintain physician schedules, ensuring that all patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Educational requirement: High school diploma, GED/HSED, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1+ years of recent medical office experience in a similar capacity is preferred. Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Technical skills: Proficient in basic computer functions.
  • Soft skills: Ability to learn new software quickly, excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills, ability to operate standard office equipment, ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm (preferred).
  • Other: Must possess attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team, ability to respond positively to constructive criticism and direction from supervisors, professional appearance and manner at all times, friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, compassionate and caring in dealing with others, ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
