Clinical Pathology Residency

This is a 3-year residency position in veterinary clinical pathology beginning July 2027.
About the role
The College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University offers a training program focused on in-depth learning of clinical pathology and ACVP board preparation under the supervision of 4 ACVP board-certified clinical pathologists. The resident will join a busy clinical pathology service, participate in student education, and engage in hospital interactions. The program leverages resources available in the Research Triangle region, including universities, industry, and government agencies, to provide unique research and career opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the clinical pathology service, contributing to diagnostic and educational activities.
- Engage in student education and hospital interactions.
- Prepare for ACVP board certification under the guidance of board-certified clinical pathologists.
Requirements
- DVM or equivalent degree.
- Excellent academic record and strong communication skills.
- Commitment to a career in veterinary clinical pathology.
- Eligible for North Carolina Veterinary Licensure and/or faculty certificate under the supervision of the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Health Complex.
- Good diagnostic laboratory, teaching, and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Clinical or post-DVM experience is highly desirable.
Schedule
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with variability depending on case load. Some evening and weekend on-call duties may be required.
Pay
$54,000 per year.
