Clinical Pathology Fellowship or Senior Residency, Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine
About the role
Temporary full‑time fellowship or senior residency in veterinary clinical pathology at the Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine, Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersey. Position begins November 1, 2026 (or until filled).
The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine is New Jersey’s first veterinary school, housed in a 167,000 sq ft building with a full‑service small animal teaching hospital, academic and research laboratories, and a wide range of clinical services.
This final‑year position is intended for residents who have completed two years of an ACVP‑recognized clinical pathology training program and wish to finish their training at Rowan. Post‑residency board‑certified or eligible applicants are welcome.
Residents will train under a Rowan University ACVP board‑certified clinical pathologist, with supplemental guidance from two ACVP board‑certified anatomic pathologists. The year emphasizes protected study time for the ACVP certifying exam, teaching experience in the second‑year DVM clinical pathology course and with fourth‑year students, and case exposure through cytology, clinical pathology, gross and microscopic pathology, and specialty rounds. Residents are encouraged to present at regional/national meetings and to complete a small research project aimed at peer‑reviewed publication. In the laboratory’s first six months, approximately 150 cytology/fluid analyses and 1,000 hematology/chemistry/urinalysis/endocrinology cases were processed, and residents see essentially every case that comes through the lab.
Completing the final year at Rowan positions residents strongly for anticipated faculty openings in clinical pathology at the school, though the residency does not guarantee future employment.
