About the Role
Clinical Nursing Adjunct faculty supervise patient/client care provided by nursing students (maximum 8 per group) in clinical agencies, collaborating with agency clinicians to align assignments with course objectives and facilitate student learning.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide nursing students during clinical experiences.
- Collaborate with agency clinicians to determine appropriate client assignments aligned with course objectives.
- Facilitate optimal student learning, critical thinking, and skill acquisition.
- Attend annual nursing faculty meetings and pre-semester course meetings.
- Maintain regular communication with the course coordinator to align clinical experiences with lecture and lab content.
- Attend pre-semester orientation/planning meetings at the assigned service agency.
- Select patient assignments to meet weekly objectives and post student assignment sheets on the nursing unit.
- Delineate student assignments with agency staff and familiarize students with relevant policies and procedures.
- Conduct pre- and post-conferences, monitor students during clinical experiences, and hold mid-term and end-of-semester conferences.
- Complete weekly evaluations of student performance and maintain records of assignments and progress.
- Guide and supervise students during simulation exercises.
- Follow policies for students requiring remediation and evaluate written clinical work.
- Adhere to guidelines outlined in the Adjunct Faculty handbook.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing or actively pursuing a Master’s degree in Nursing (required).
- Master’s concentration in Nursing Education or certificate (preferred).
- Unencumbered RN license in the State of New York.
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience.
Pay
$880–$930 per contract credit hour.
