About the role
Assesses and evaluates the clinical practices of the nursing staff in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager in the assessment and identification of educational needs related to clinical nursing and patient care systems and processes.
- Develops programs to address identified educational needs.
- Affords assistance to nursing staff in achieving their goals related to enhancing patient health, with a particular emphasis on prevention, rehabilitation, coping, death, and dying.
- Demonstrates a high level of professional excellence through the application of evidence-based practice.
- Serves as a role model for nursing staff in the attainment of clinical competence.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing required or a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Required experience includes 3 years in progressive clinical roles.
- General experience and ability in curriculum development and evaluation are required.
- General experience in a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nursing Education role is preferred.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
- Multi-state compact RN license required.
