Clinical Nurse - PRN
About the role
Provides direct patient care in a high-acuity Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, focusing on post-operative care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients, including ECMO, VAD, and transplants. Promotes patient and family-centered care by educating on illness management, post-treatment needs, and medication administration. Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring clear communication across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations. Participates in activities that enhance patient safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- RN license with a Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree; Bachelor's preferred.
- No prior experience required; less than 2 years preferred for Bachelor’s degree holders.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment, maintaining constant alertness.
