Clinical Nurse - Oncology

Role Overview This position involves providing direct patient care on a 32-bed oncology unit specializing in blood cancers. The role requires assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The nurse promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and ensures safety and quality compliance. It involves developing individualized care plans, assessing physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs, and communicating effectively across care settings. Preferred candidates hold a Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree, RN license, and may have a Bachelor's degree with at least two years of experience. GNs and new graduates are considered. The role emphasizes critical nursing skills, safety awareness, and professional development. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive, high-acuity care, including complex interventions such as chemotherapy, pain management, and blood product support.Educate patients and families about treatment, post-care, and medication management.Participate in safety initiatives, quality improvement, and ongoing professional growth.Develop and communicate individualized care plans in collaboration with the team and patients.Assess physical, emotional, and cultural needs, respecting patient values and barriers to involvement. Qualifications & Skills Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred.Valid RN license; no prior experience necessary, but 2+ years preferred.Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and professionalism.
