Clinical Nurse II-MST Float Pool Orange/Irvine-FT Night Shift

About the role

The clinical nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients. This includes assessing, planning, intervening, and advocating for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Evaluating patient outcomes, the effectiveness of the plan of care, and readiness for discharge is also a key responsibility. Additionally, the nurse will act as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for assigned patients
• Absess, plan, intervene, and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care
• Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, and readiness for discharge and revise plan or make referrals as necessary
• Act as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit
• Functions as a (PCC) Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager

Requirements

Must possess and maintain appropriate certifications (NRP, PALS, etc.) per unit assignment, as required. Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an acute care hospital setting. Current California RN license. All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment. Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families. Preferred qualifications include understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and 2 years of telemetry experience.
