Clinical Nurse II-Critical Care Float Pool Orange & Irvine-FT Night Shift

About the role

The clinical nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients, ensuring the coordination of care between other disciplines and support staff. They perform professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age-appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Evaluates patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, and readiness for discharge and revise the plan or make referrals as necessary. Acts as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit. Functions as a (PCC) Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager.

Responsibilities

• Absess, plan, intervene, and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care
• Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, and readiness for discharge and revise the plan or make referrals as necessary
• Act as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit
• Function as a (PCC) Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager

Requirements

Must possess and maintain appropriate certifications, (NRP, PALS, etc.) per unit assignment, as required

Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU experience

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Skills

Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements

Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
