Clinical Nurse II - Cardiac Cath Lab - FT

Position Summary

Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in Cardiac Cath Lab, ensuring effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary teams in creation and implementation of the plan of care. Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Evaluates patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care and readiness for discharge. Participates in unit related projects as needed.

About the Role

• Provides direct patient care in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting

Responsibilities

• Performs professional nursing duties incorporating psychomotor and age-appropriate cognitive skills
• Monitors and circulates patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
• Assists with moderate sedation procedures
• Evaluates patient outcomes and effectiveness of the plan of care
• Ensures readiness for discharge
• May serve as a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) as requested by the supervisor/manager

Requirements

• Minimum 12 months recent experience working in a Cardiac Cath Lab or minimum 3 years' recent experience working in a Cardiac Critical Care Unit
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Current CA RN license
• Moderate sedation experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships across the Health System
• Cover call shifts (24/7)

Qualifications

• Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
• Knowledge and practical application of hemodynamic monitoring

Skills

• Procedural nursing care during electrophysiology procedures and/or device implant procedures
