About the role

This position will support the Coastal Region (Brunswick, Rockport, Belfast and Damariscotta). The Department of Nursing Academics at MaineHealth is currently seeking a Per-Diem Clinical Nurse Educator - Faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within the healthcare system to support the undergraduate academic Nursing Programs.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships within the clinical practice settings.
  • Provide opportunities for students to meet the student learning outcomes through provisions of assigned clinical instruction and student assessment and evaluation.
  • Assist by providing feedback for undergraduate Nursing program curriculum development and assist with the implementation of the systematic clinical evaluation plans set forth by the undergraduate Nursing programs.
  • Facilitate clinical learning opportunities for nursing students, to achieve learning outcomes necessary to fulfill the academic Nursing program requirements and be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination.

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing or a BSN Degree matriculating into a Master’s Degree upon hire required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Certification in Nursing Education and/or Nursing Professional Development preferred. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • Experience: Two years of clinical experience required. Experience in classroom and clinical teaching associated with specialty specific setting preferred. Experience as a clinical instructor for nursing students preferred.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including day, evening and weekend commitments based on school/unit availability.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
